Kastro Maini is located in the heart of the historic Areopolis, in central Mani. The traditional stone-built building features a pool with hydromassage and a pool for children. Area information

Areopoli is one of the most beautiful and traditional settlements in Greece. Located in the heart of Mani, the area was named after Ares, the ancient Greek god of war. It was here that the fight for Greek independence began, on March 17th, 1821. There are several towers that rise around the town, including Kapetanakos,and Mavromichalis, which belonged to powerful families of Areopolis. Mavromichalis is also the town’s historical museum. Another point of interest is the rock that the Greek flag was placed on. Those interested in the history should also visit the Church of Taxiarches and Limeni Port. Areopolis has retained its charm and history whilst becoming the commercial centre of Mani. There are many restaurants, taverns and shops that provide local entertainment and produce.

As soon as you enter Areopolis you turn left from the main road coming from Githio or Kalamata (you will see petrol station silk to the right)and then 50 m after turn to the left again to enter to a small road where there is a small sign(Sotiras or parking DHMOS OITYLOY) and after 200 m you reach the hotel.
