Originally built in 1905 as a private mansion of the Almásy-family the other wing was attached to the building in 1934. This wing functioned as the Erzsébet Orphanage, which according to unwritten tradition was named after Queen Elizabeth, a regular guest of the Almásy-family. Situated on the ground floor of the hotel, the classically designed, air-conditioned Almásy restaurant seats 70 guests and boasts an inviting terrace for 40 people with superb views of the castle. The splendid view makes a candle-light dinner a truly unforgettable event. The restaurant is open for dinner from 18:00 to 22:00. A sumptuous buffet breakfast in the restaurant is available between 07:00 and 10:00. Throughout the day the café offers a wide selection of tea and coffee specialities.
