By Car: - From Dublin, take the N80 turn-off to Portlaoise at the Dr Cullen Roundabout near the Braun Factory. - From the South, come through Carlow town to the Dr Cullen Roundabout at the Braun Factory and take the 1st exit (N80 Portlaoise Road). - From the West (towards Portlaoise and Castlecomer), follow the N80 road signposted for Rosslare. The hotel is on the right-hand side of this road as you approach Carlow. Parking: Upon entering the hotel grounds, follow the directional signs for reception (one way system). Food & beverage

Breakfast is served from 07:00 to 10:00. The breakfast buffet offers a selection of cold juices, yoghurts, cereals, cheeses, marmalade and jams, and fresh fruits. Cooked breakfasts include full Irish breakfast, egg breakfasts, Fried Fish of the Day and a continental breakfast. Tea and coffee with toast and bread is also served. For any special requests, please let us know the night before and we at Avlon House will try to meet your requirements.

Carlow stands where the Barrow and Burren rivers meet. Tradition states that the junction of the 2 rivers once formed 4 lakes. The name 'Carlow' means Four Lakes. By Car From Dublin: - Go straight through 2 roundabouts at Braun and the B&B is located 900 m on the right, before Topaz service station. From Waterford: - Follow the R448 through all traffic lights (3 sets) and under the railway bridge. - The B&B is 500 m on the left just past Topaz. By Plane / Sea: Situated in the South-East of Ireland, Avlon House is approximately 90 km from the ferries and airports of Dublin, Rosslare and Waterford.
