Numerous attractions are available to each visitor in Château-d'Oex. The hotel is situated just next to the Château-d'Oex Tourism Office where they will gladly inform you about all the activities available to our visitors. Attractions include balloon flights, horse riding, visits to mountain pastures, museums, small cinemas, tennis, ice skating, bowling, miniature golf and a swimming pool. The village has everything to appeal to families with young children.

Room information

The delightfully decorated rooms in the old chalet are all in wood, furnished with country-style furniture. There is no elevator in the old chalet. In the new part the rooms are more modern, larger in size and easier to access. Some have a terrace.

Savour our refined cuisine in the romantic candle-lit dining room with an open fireplace. Our chef prepares a choice of culinary creations using only fresh products all the highest quality, accompanied by a great selection of Swiss, French, Italian and Spanish wines. In summer, weather permitting, lunch and dinner are served in the garden with its magnificent view.

Area information

The "Gstaad Super Ski Region" offers 250 km of ski slopes and opportunities for snowboarding, ice skating, curling and cross-country skiing. In summer, hiking, fishing, tennis (indoor/outdoor), golf, swimming pools (indoor/outdoor), bowling, hot air ballooning, circuits by plane from the airport of Saanen, rafting and horseback riding are available. Other attractions are the Menuhin Festival, Gstaad Polo, Gruyère and its castle, museums and several traditional villages.

A playground is located in front of the house. The cable car to La Braye starts only 230 meters from the Chateau d'Oex Train Station.

You need to park your can in Chateau d'Oex and take the cable car to the hotel. The cable car operates from 09:00 to 16:30. Please inform the hotel in advance if you intend to arrive outside these operating hours to arrange an individual pick-up service.

A 60-seat bistro-café-bar serves a daily menu, cheese specialities, rösti and à la carte dishes from 11:00 to 22:00. The 40-seat restaurant can be separated from the café to assure the intimacy needed for private, business or family reunions. House and regional specialities and fresh fish are among the wide offer of dishes served. There is access for people with limited mobility.

Area information

The Alpine capital of hot-air ballooning, Chateau d’Oex offers commercial flights all year round. The International Hot Air Balloon Week takes place in late January. All year round: Museums, handicrafts, concerts, festivals and traditional fairs. Seasonal: Skiing, Nordic walking and mountain trekking, mountain biking, paragliding, swimming, ice-skating, tennis, rafting, bowling, curling, and the Via Ferrata mountain track. Chateaux d’Oex and its High Country (Pays d’Enhaut) are a paradise for families, only a few kilometres from the Glacier 3000 ski area.

By public transport: It is a 1-hour ride with the MOB (Montreux-Oberland Bernois) train from Montreux.
