A small selection of rooms are very much characterised by artistry and variety. There is a canopied bed; a window guarded by a great fig tree right up against the medieval wall; a Mediterranean terrace with a pergola of bougainvilleas; a pitched roof with an attic under the sky; a view of the Romanesque convent of Sant Miquel and a tiny suite on 2 floors, like a little sailing ship. Rooms are decorated and furnished in a minimalist, though warm and welcoming style, with careful use of colours both dense and deep. All the details are from careful classical/contemporary designs and accompanied by Neoromantic accessories. There are 3 of the 6 double rooms that are suitable for a baby cot.

Food & beverage

Breakfast is served from 09:00 to 11:30. Standard breakfast (included in the rate) is the classical continental, including fresh orange juice, pastries, toast with butter and marmalade, coffee, cappuccino and tea. For those looking to treat themselves, there is also a gourmet breakfast menu. Dinner is served from 20:30 to 22:30. It is exclusively for customers of El Somni. Both summer and winter menus offer a selection of cold and hot starters, main courses of meat or fish, and a dessert. All food served is comprised of traditional Catalan recipes, with a few modern influences.

Area information

The quality and variety of Empordà’s landscape is one of the main attractions of this area, with fields, sea and mountains all in the vicinity. Many small roads and paths mingle amid fields of rice, corn and sunflower. Many small stone villages are nearby, where residents enjoy a quiet, traditional way of life. The fields in the vicinity are interrupted by the mass of the Montgrí, a sweet skyline crowned by the Gavarres Hills: a great natural wood of holm oaks and pines. To the south is the Ardenya, stretching spectacularly to the sea. On the coast you will find breathtakingly high reefs; islands and lagoons full of varied wild life; wide beaches of fine sand; and a multitude of small hidden bays, surrounded by Mediterranean Pines.

By Car: - Cruïlles is 30 minutes from exit 6 of the A-7 Barcelona-France motorway. - From this exit, take the Girona-Palamós Road to La Bisbal de l'Empordà, which is 2 km from the village. From the Airport: - Girona-Costa Brava Airport is accessible via exit 8 from the A-7, 45 minutes from Cruïlles.
