The Wachau Valley is a 35-km long cultural landscape, which was made part of UNESCO’s World Heritage List for its wealth of cultural and historic attractions. These include wine terraces and many castles and churches, including the impressive Melk Abbey. The area is ideal for hiking and cycling, and there are also excursions by boat. Tennis, squash and bowling are available in the Melk Sports Centre, 5 km away. An institute for sports rehabilitation, physiotherapy, health training, performance diagnostics, sports coaching and massages is also located there (please book in advance).
