Area information

Winter sports are available in the area around Haidmühle, with 65 km of cross-country skiing trails and downhill skiing at the nearby Dreisessel ski resort. All year round, guests can enjoy long hiking and cycling (bike hire is available locally) and horse riding tours in the Bavarian Forest or the Šumava national park.

Heading along the motorway to Passau, exit at Aicha vorm Wald. Head for Freyung-Waldkirchen on the B12, and continue towards Haidmühle. On reaching Haidmühle, go uphill and pass the church, and the sign for the Hotel Hochstein in ahead on the right-hand side.
