Our chef Markus Wortelkamp prepares a varied light cuisine, inspired by fresh and seasonal products from the region. Please note: Our restaurant is closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays until 5.00pm.

Area information

The "Romantik Hotel Alte Vogtei" is located directly behind the church in the picturesque village of Hamm, which is beautifully embedded between the Sieg and the Kroppacher Switzerland, on the edge of the Westerwald Forest. The Westerwald with its green hills and far views, lively brooks, long valleys and lowlands is one of the most varied landscapes in Germany. Hiking paths will guide you alongside the rivers to the medieval old town, to lakes or to old monasteries.

Arrival by car: - From direction Cologne: Exit Hennef-Ost (7), via A59 to junction St. Augustin-West or via A3 to junction Bonn-Siegburg. Further on the A560 direction Hennef and Altenkirchen, B8 direction Altenkirchen and B256 direction Hamm. - From direction Frankfurt (A3): Exit Neuwied/Altenkirchen (36), via B256 direction Altenkirchen, and further direction Hamm/Sieg. - From direction Frankfurt (A45): Exit Herborn-West (26) via B255 and B414 direction Bad Marienberg and Altenkirchen, B256 direction Hamm and Sieg. - From direction Dortmund (A45/A4): Exit Reichshof and Bergneustadt (26), via A45 to junction Olpe-Sued, A4 direction Cologne, exit Reichshof and Bergneustadt (26), direction Waldbroel, further on the B256 direction Altenkirchen to Hamm and Sieg.

Quick description

This picturesque half-timbered house in the Westerwald region was built in 1753 and became renowned in the year of 1818 as the birthplace of F.W. Raiffeisen. The well-restored architecture in the interior of the house offers a unique atmosphere. The rooms, which combine tradition and comfort, invite to day-dream. Inspired by his French education, chef Markus Wortelkamp serves excellent cuisine with only the freshest products from the region.
